The israeli High-Tech community declares War on cancer

Tech4Cancer was born out of the personal journey of Gal Avital (who has twice recovered from breast cancer) and Idan Megidish, her partner and a social entrepreneur.

Our goal - To harness the strengths of the Israeli Tech industry to accelerate breakthroughs in research and clinical treatment and save lives on a tremendous scale.

Tech4Cancer is a nonprofit that aims to accelerate life - saving breakthroughs in cancer research by

We envision a future where innovation shortens the path to medical discoveries - further positioning Israel at the forefront of the global fight against cancer.

The problem we’re solving

The High-tech industry knows how to move fast and break through unimaginable obstacles. Cancer research today is advancing - but not at the pace life deserves. When you combine technology, data and talented people who want to win, you can shorten years of research, open doors to new findings, and reach faster to the treatment of a patient waiting.

מי אנחנו ולמה אנחנו כאן?

Who we are and why we’re here?

Our personal journey taught us that the scientific and clinical progress in cancer research is just not fast enough - and mainly, that It Can move faster. Today, we operate as a broad network of partners, bringing what the Israeli tech industry does best - innovation, precision, agility and creativity to the core of cancer research, to drive breakthroughs and save lives in a fast, innovative way.

And this is not just a dream - it’s already happening.

Our vision

50

Research projects per year receiving a technological acceleration that yields real-world results and significantly shortens the Time to Market for a Cure.

10

Research breakthroughs supported by peer-reviewed scientific articles and formal publications.

500k

Patients who will gain access to faster and more effective treatment, alongside a significant improvement in quality of life during treatment, thanks to the research supported by the us.

How did we do it?

Startup Team

breakthroughs

The clinical breakthroughs that our initiative enables are the product of a thorough and comprehensive process, involving analysis and characterization of the technological barriers and opportunities to breakthrough, development of data and AI tools that allow dramatic progress, and their implementation for translation of research into clinical treatment.

Real-World Impact

In a recent project completed at Sheba Medical Center together with Google, the image-processing tools we built enabled a drastic optimization of experimental and research workflows, which at minimum saved two years of research work and seem to have enabled insights that would not have been possible otherwise.

The project led to new findings and additional research directions that are further developing in other projects supported by Tech4Cancer.

At Work

End-to-End Support

Research teams supported by the initiative receive close, continuous partnership - from the initial scoping and understanding of the challenge, through developing and refining the right technological tools, all the way to implementation and measurable clinical impact.
We stay involved throughout the process to ensure real progress and outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Register, join the community, and we’ll talk to understand how your talent can help the most. From there we connect you to the appropriate research, meet the researchers, and start working together. Most activities are remote. Sometimes we come to the lab to see with our own eyes. It doesn’t require more than what you have to give - just the will and real impact.

  • We are not a venture meant to solve a single challenge - we are a system that connects the power of high-tech to cancer research. Non-profit. No ego. No politics. Personalized fit for each volunteer and each research project. Close accompaniment until the clinical result. One goal: to save lives faster.

  • A true partnership - not just a logo on a site. It can be via CSR, employee engagement, knowledge or resource donation. There are many ways to join. We’ll talk and choose the way that fits you best.
Strong players like Google, Microsoft and Salesforce and many others are already with us.

  • Your donation already makes impact. It allows the venture to exist and grow, and researchers to receive the tools they need in real-time, leading to breakthroughs that can save lives.
